The Karnataka Hijab Controversy

By Lúcío Mascarenhas, February 12, 2022.

A Controversy broke out in December 2021 - early January 2022, over women wearing the Muslim garment, the Hijab, to "Pre-University colleges" ("PUCs") or "Intermediate Schools," 11th & 12th years of the "10+2(+3+2) etc Indian Education system," introduced in the early 1960s, the responses of the institutions' managements, of Hindu Supremacist and Muslim Supremacist groups, of the illegal BJP "Karnataka State Government," of the "Karnataka High Court," and of the "Supreme Court of India," etc.

The Hindu Supremacist BJP has made several illegal and criminal attempts to subvert the popular vote and to usurp the provincial government of Karnataka, this is the third iteration, directly aided and abetted by the "Modified" "Supreme Court of India," which has taken up residence in Mr Modi's rather commodious posterior. Each single iteration of the illegal BJP gobarment has seen a vicious targeting, primarily and predominantly of the Christians of Karnataka, hooliganism, lynchings, mobs ransacking and vandalisations of Christian places of worship, educational institutions, etc., "state spomsored terrorism," all pretty expected, visceral, endemic to Hindu Supremacism. What is different this time is that a major conflict seems to be being created, fostered, brewed, by at least two sets of actors, representing, respectively, Hindu and Muslim Supremacist entities and groups.

Hindu Supremacists say that Muslim Supremacists are attempting a "Talibanisation."

It is public record as to which entities and groups of entities have been desperately striving to Talibanize "India," and it is the Sangh Parivar, and its political sockpuppets, the BJP, not primarily the Muslims. The Hindu Supremacists are engaged in a desperate attempt to attain to the achievements of Zia ul Haq of "Pakistan." Muslims, in any case, as of this date and time, do not have Demography on their side to achieve a Talibanisation.

There have been suggestions that some Muslim Supremacist groups have instigated Muslim girls, who previously had not worn the hijab to "PUCs," to suddenly start wearing them, to insist on an innovation of wearing hijabs to PUCs. There has been no serious investigation of this allegation, so it remains just that, an allegation, something ephemeral, a rumour hanging in the air, not a definite and proven fact.

In an alleged response, Hindu Supremacist boys have taken to wearing saffron stoles to schools and colleges, (and chanting "Jai Shri Ram"), not because wearing saffron stoles is a part and parcel of their religion, not because it is mandated by their religion, but evidently to counter the demand of the hijabists, and have been heckling, harassing, attempting to intimidate hijabist students.

Buddhist and Ambedkarite students have responded by wearing blue stoles and chanting "Jai Bhim" against Hindu Supremacists and in favour of the Hijabists.

Context is important

«On December 30, 2017, a delegation of ABVP members, the student wing of the Sangh Parivar & of the BJP, met and demanded from Fr Shaju Devassy, principal of the Syro-Malabar Rite Church's Diocese of Sagar's St Mary Post-Graduate College, Vidisha, Madhya Pradesh, that the school carry out there and then the "Bharatmata Aarti," a "Ritual of Worship of South Asia as the Hindu goddess 'India.'"

«Faced with refusal, they became furious and threatened that they would complete the ritual on Jan 5, 2018, even by force if needed.

«After being foiled by police on Jan 5, 2018, the ABVP mob threatened a 2nd attempt for Jan 16, 2018.

«On Monday Jan 15, 2018, Christian Schools moved MP High Court requesting protection. Acting on High Court orders, police pre-emptively arrested Sangh activists & foiled the Jan 16, 2018 attempt.»

It is possible that Muslim girls were not previously wearing hijabs to PUCs, but were Sikhs, a miniscule minority, not wearing their religious attire in Karnataka schools and "colleges"?

The Karnataka High Court has given an interim "order" "banning all religious attire" in academic institutions. The "Supreme Court of India," has consistently refused to intervene in this matter.

The INC / Congress Party has a valid question, made in its application to the "Supreme Court": Does this apply equally to all and everybody, also to the Sikhs?

Under the Congress Party, the Judiciary,  and the "Supreme Court of India," had become largely a government department. Under the Manmohan Singh Kohli - Antonia Maino Dyarchy, the Supreme Court first found freedom to act. Under Modi, the Supreme Court has found safety and comfort in regressing to become once again a government department, a  mindless rubber stamp of the "Great Leader," from whose ample posterior doth the Sun sally forth daily and from which poureth forth infinite wisdom. Public perception of, esteem of, and confidence in, the "Supreme Court of India" is Nil, Zero. It magically "solved" the Ayodhya Imbroglio; it is deaf, indeed dead, to the Modi Gobarment's blatant, daylight fraud on Jammu-Kashmir; it slumbers in peace and quiet, sucking at Modi's teats while Siddique Kappan languishes in an illegal captivity by State Terrorists, but it bawls out, and throws a tantrum, and will not be pacified, even for a day, at the pitiful treatment of terrorist and goon Arnab Goswami. No surprises there. Its precious time is eaten up by a close examen of the dastardly attempt by unarmed farmers attempting to assassinate the Dear Great Leader, from whose ample posteror doth sally forth daily the Sun and wherefrom welleth up founts of wisdom, upon a bypass overpass near Ferozepur in Indian Panjab. Yup, public perception of, esteem of, and confidence in, the "Supreme Court of India" is Nil, Zero.

In a world where Christianity is  deliberately being exterminated by Muslim Supremacists from its ancestral home of the MENA super-region and Africa, of intense persecution of Christians in Pakistan and Iran, of intense pressure of aggression and colonization of Europe, the Americas, Oceania, etc., and given the historical persecution and genocide of Christians by the criminal Tipu in the historic Karnataka, I cannot, and will not, support, justify, make excuses for, etc., the Hijabists.

As Christians, we are to follow and obey Jesus Christ. «But the Pharisees hearing it, said: "This Man casteth not out the devils but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils." And Jesus knowing their thoughts, said to them, "Every kingdom divided against itself shall be made desolate: and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand. And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself: how then shall his kingdom stand? And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? Therefore they shall be your judges. But if I by the Spirit of God cast out devils, then is the kingdom of God come upon you. Or how can any one enter into the house of the strong, and rifle his goods, unless he first bind the strong? and then he will rifle his house."»(Matthew xii, 24-29). «And the scribes who were come down from Jerusalem, said: "He has Beelzebub, and by the prince of devils He casts out devils." And after He had called them together, He said to them in parables: "How can Satan cast out Satan? And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand. And if Satan be risen up against himself, he is divided, and cannot stand, but has an end. No man can enter into the house of a strong man and rob him of his goods, unless he first bind the strong man, and then shall he plunder his house."» (Mark iii, 22-27).

Jesus claimed to be God, God made flesh, God incarnate. Mahomettanism is premised upon denying the Godhood of Jesus Christ, that and pretty much nothing else. In Christian theology, Mahomettanism is Infidelity, and a form of Paganism.

In a quarrel between two Paganisms, both viciously anti-Christian, it does not behoove a Christian to favour either the one or the other. Both are franchises of the kingdom of Satan, and this is a pageant war, a make-believe war, a distraction.

"Seek you first the Kingdom of God, and His Justice, and all these rest shall be added unto you." (Mt. vi, 33).
