This is a consolidation, & re-publishment, of two of my old, co-relevant, pages, dating back from October 5 & October 6, 2002AD, with minor proofreading corrections.

St. John Lateran, or, its full name, "the Archbasilica of the Most Holy Savior, Of Saint John the Baptist & Of Saint John the Evangelist," is located on the Lateran Hill in Rome, & is the Cathedral of Rome & the official ecclesiastical seat of the Pope, ranking higher than St. Peter's Basilica; it was consecrated November 9, 324AD, the site being donated to Pope Sylvester by Emperor Constantine the Great & being the residence of Popes until the "Babylonian Captivity" of the Papacy in Avignon. After the exile in Avignon, & after the Great Western Schism that followed it, the Popes resided in the Vatican Basilica of St. Peter, until October 1958AD.

Not In Communion With Rome?

It has been alleged that this site is 'Not in Communion with Rome.'

Nothing can be farther from the truth.

In 1958, the heretic Roncalli commenced a SCHISM that separated the bulk of the then Christians from the bosom of the One Holy Catholic & Apostolic Church. The Head Quarters of this Schismatic sect is, as with the Catholic Church, Rome. In fact, this sect has usurped the physical buildings of the Catholic Headquarters in Rome, the Vatican, etc., from where its heresiarch, the antipope John-Paul the 2nd presently governs.

That a sect has its Head Quarters in Rome does not make it a part of the Roman Communion, which is the House & Temple of the Living God, Jesus Christ, the God of Abraham, & by Him established & guaranteed.

As regarding the position of Rome, since the Prince of the Apostles, St Peter (originally Simon Bar-John) transferred his seat from the Syrian Antioch to Rome, & died there, it has therefore been understood, & that right from the beginning, that his successors are his successors in the bishopric of that city, Rome.

About the central role of this city & the Church he founded there, the last Ecumenical Council, the Council of the Vatican held in 1869-1870 under the auspices of His Holiness Pope Pius the IXth of happy memory, reaffirming what was said by the Councils & saints before it, taught that this Church (the particular Roman Church):

1. "Has always kept the true Religion unsullied." (213.4)

2. "That the faith can suffer no Diminution here." (216.3)

3. "In its faith, the whole, true & perfect security of the Christian religion resides." (213.5)

4. "Because of its greater sovereignty, it was always necessary for every church to be in agreement with the Roman Church." (204.5)

This is my faith.

I have always adhered to this, not having swerved from it in the least: that the Papacy will always remain, at least until the return of our Lord Jesus Christ, the God of Abraham; & that the particular Roman Church or Church of Rome will always exist, without ever entirely falling away.

This is my faith.

Therefore to describe me as being 'Not in Communion with Rome' is a gross falsehood, a slander & a libel.

Certainly, I am not in communion with the Antichurch & with every other sect, whether headquartered in Rome or not.

It is important to understand what the Church means when it speaks, and to know exact terms.

The Branch Heresy, fabricated by the Henrican (alias "Anglican") Apostates & Satanists, teaches that all the bodies of people who call themselves "Christian" are members of one single body, which is however, invisible, or imperceptible to the senses, the Church founded by our Lord, & the body which the Henrican Protestants call the "Roman Catholic Church" is one branch of it.

The Catholic Church denies this heresy.

The Catholic Church teaches that it, & it alone, is the one & only true Church, set-up & founded by our Lord God Jesus Christ, & that the groups & bodies that seceded from it & the bodies that in turn, seceded from these seceders, are not members of it, but are as much strangers to it, & to God, as are the pagans.

The Catholic Church teaches that it is composed of several individual bodies of geographically limited Christian communities or Churches, usually called dioceses: eg. The Church of Rome, the Church of London, the Church of Athens, the Church of Bombay, etc. (This is in addition to the various autonomous Rites).

These Churches are not independent churches in the sense of the Branch Heresy, but, using modern language, the "local chapters" of the Church founded, established & guaranteed by our Lord God Jesus Christ.

When the Church talks of the Holy Roman Church, it generally means, not the Catholic Church as a whole, nor does it mean "the Roman Catholic Church" as defined by Protestantism, but it means the Church of Rome, or to put it in modern language, the Roman Chapter of the One Holy Catholic & Apostolic Church.

This is generally what is meant by the Church, in its references to the "Church of Rome" in the documents of the Councils & in the teachings of the Magisterium.

To deny this is to affirm the Branch Heresy.

The Roman Church: Mother & Mistress

When the One Holy Catholic & Apostolic Church speaks of 'the One Holy & Apostolic Church', or of the 'the One Holy & Apostolic Roman Church' or of 'the Holy Mother Church,' she speaks of herself.

When it speaks of the 'Roman Church' or of the 'Holy Roman Church,' it generally means the local Church of Rome, or to put it in modern parlance, the Roman Chapter of the One Holy Catholic & Apostolic Church.

It is this Roman Church (or Chapter) which is properly called the Mother & Mistress of all the other Churches (or Chapters) & of all Christians.

This relationship is purely internal - within the Community of Believers. It does not include any of the Heretical and / or Schismatic sects.

This Holy Roman Church is NOT the Mother & Mistress of any of the Sects, whose only real Parent & Master is Satan!

The Church in General & the Roman Church are two distinct entities; the latter being part of the former.

The Roman Church & the Apostolic See or the Papacy are two distinct entities; the latter being part of the former.

The Bishop of Rome is the Pope, the occupant of the Apostolic See, in his capacity of the bishop of Rome or the Governor of the Roman Chapter, & is also known as the Roman Pontiff. As a result of this, he is also the Lieutenant & Plenipotentary of our Lord God Jesus Christ, & the Supreme Governor of all the faithful on earth.
