Are you "Charismatic"? If so, why aren't you dancing with poisonous snakes and taking poison? If you aren't, you are fake "Charismatics"!
«In the early 1900s, George Went Hensley and James Miller independently started Snakehandling sects in the USA.
«According to these Snakehandlers, if you've never handled poisonous snakes, you're clearly not going to heaven, for that is what they say that the Bible teaches: "And these signs shall follow them that believe: In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues. They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover." (Mark xvi, 17-18).
«Other passages quoted are: "Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you." (Luke x, 19).
«"And when we had escaped, then we knew that the island was called Malta. But the barbarians shewed us no small courtesy. For kindling a fire, they refreshed us all, because of the present rain, and of the cold. «If you're going to prove you're a believer who is saved, you are going to speak in tongues, heal the sick, right? .... Well, what about dancing with snakes and scorpions, and ingesting poison? Shouldn't you have to do these things to prove you are filled with the 'Holy Spirit,' and thus saved?»
(George Went Hensley died in 1955 after being bitten by a rattlesnake).
